Getting there, can be the hard part.

Intro to Australia ~ Many Thanks

Prior to leaving for Australia I had my heart set on visiting the various wine regions, for obvious reasons. After having many discussions with my bosses, Sir Terry Matthews, and Anthony Bailey and listening to my girlfriend, Laura go on and on about the East coast my excitement rose to a high level of enthusiasm.

Laura and her sister, Sarah (who lives in Sydney with her finance, John, who’s on a 1 year teaching exchange) did an immense amount of work finding cheap flights and affordable accommodation with great value. I would like to thank them for every minute spent on planning this trip. Also would like to thank Jane from Downunder Travel in Vancouver for her expertise in traveling the great country of Australia.

Another thank you goes out to my good buddy Alex Hobbs for helping me start this blog. Without his tech savyness I would not be writing this today. A big thanks to my family, namely my Mom who has always supported me in whatever I chose to do no matter how many times I changed my mind. My sister Ange and her partner Paul have always supported me and are constantly trying to help guide me through life even though I don’t always want to listen.

After attending the Australia’s First Families of Wine (AFFW) tasting in Ottawa I developed some great contacts. I would also like to thank Lifford Wine Agency through and through for connecting me with the wineries that I represent in the dining room at Perspectives in the Brookstreet Hotel. Thus bringing me to thank the people at the hotel for enabling me to take the month and travel to expand my knowledge and passion of wine, food and travel. It will no doubt be a paramount experience in my life that will lead to all things good.

Bare in mind I am no journalist but I love the journey through life so much I would like to share my experiences with you. Please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, I can take it. Enjoy the experience as I have and here it is. I look forward to your comments.

Your own invaluable help entails much to me and somewhat more to my colleagues. Regards; from each one of us.
